Snorkeling Safety Tips

Never snorkeled before?  Here’s good news: snorkeling is easy to learn and takes only a few minutes of preparation even for beginners!  Snorkeling equipment will be new to you at first, but our staff will show you how to use it.   Tips for breathing through the snorkel tube will help you have a safe and fun time in the bay.

Generally speaking, Hanauma Bay is one of Hawaii’s safest snorkeling locations.  Stay close to the shore and within the shallow sand pools for optimum safety.  Lifeguards are on duty at the bay, but please exercise extra caution when swimming or snorkeling with children.
